Guess what I did!!!!??? I hiked 12 miles up the side of a volcano that is the TALLEST peak in Korea!!!!!!!!! The mountain is called Mount Hallasan and its on Jeju Island. It was a little bit hard and a lot of fun. The hard part was that 2/3 of it was on lava rocks and not a lava rock path but just rocks thrown all over. The fun part was I got to eat a lot of sugary treats, I had the best family ever to hike with, and we each got a summit toy. For my summit toy I got little packets of mystery sanrio pencil toppers and pencil caps. I got 2 Kuromi's and 1 hello kitty. I'm going to tell you about our hike.
We started at 7:45 a.m. That meant I had to wake up at 5:30 a.m. The first part of the hike was on an easy wood boardwalk.
But then we walked up a lot of stairs. Sometimes the stairs were lava rock and sometimes they were wood. I've hiked 12 miles before in Tremendously Terrific Tongariro but this was different because there were a lot more stairs. These were the last stairs to the summit.
Then we got to the top but we didn't stay there long because there were a lot of flies. But we got a cute photo at the summit. I felt really proud of myself and also annoyed at all the flies.
This is me just after the summit and we walked down the other side of the mountain a bit to get away from the flies.
The walk back down was easier. There were a lot of pretty bridges too. Can you see me and mama and Lulu on this bridge?
In the last mile the kids were all so happy. 12 miles may not sound like a lot to you, but for us it was a lot after already hiking 11 miles. I feel so confident that I can do Mt. Fuji now!!!!! Its just like Hallasan except over 2 days and at more elevation. We are going to Japan tomorrow and then the day after that we go to DISNEYLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
