The Land of Cute (part 1)

Hi friends and familly!!! Right now we are in Taipei, Taiwan. When we got here instead of taking an uber or a taxi, we took a train!! Our tickets were these little purple tokens that had a train on them. The train was about 40 minutes long. When we arrived at the train station we took the under ground path to the mall where we would meet the owner af our AirBNB. (FYI we have an AirBNB here.) We are staying on top of a mall so it was so hard to get there because there were so many up the escalator, down the escalator, and over and over again.

There are these little machines thingies that you put a coin in and a toy rolls out. They are called gachapons. If you were in third grade with me you would know what I am talking about.

They are all over Taiwan, Korea, and Japan. We love them. There is one thing you should know about the toilets here: the toilet seat can be heated, or it can spray your butt. My friend Noelle (not you Noe!) has a toilet like this and I think that it is pretty cool.

On our second day in Taipei we did the gachapons.

We each got to do 2 machines. Lulu did one of the machines and did not like what she got so she gave it to me. The toy that she gave me was a keychain withh a cat holding on to a cupcake.

I also got a little kitty purse and a squeezy bear.

Then I got some Nigiri which is safe to eat and buy in the train station.

After that we took the subway to the 101 tower. The 101 tower has 101 floors and it is the 11th tallest biulding in the world. It took 37 seonds to get to the 89th floor. That was as high as you could go by elevator. You had to walk up 2 floors to the 91st floor and then you could out on a balcony. It was really cold up there so we had to go back inside. We took lots of cute pictures inside!

We bought some postcards and stamps and sent them to some of our friends from 89 floors in the sky!!!!!!!!!!!

When we got back down to the ground floor we went to the original Din Tai Fung and a robot named Ollie led us to our seats. It was really cool.

For our final activity we went to the Adidas store. We each got to get a new outfit, which was really nice because we've been wearing the same clothes for the past year. I got a purple crop top that has off shoulder sleeves and black stretchy pants, Baker got a red soccer jersey, and Lulu got a pink shirt and black capris.

The next day we got on a train to Hualien. There was just a GIANT earthquake there so they are (as mom said) "in desperate need of tourism". It was us kids first time on a high speed train so we did this:

the train coming around the corner👀

the train arriving 😱

The next day in Hualien we rode on ATVs. But before we got to ride them, we had to take a bunch of ridiculous photos. The first photos were us up on a box doing all sorts of poses. My favorite one was where we all had our hands around eachother with our backs facing the camera.

Then mom and dad took a bunch of super ridiculous photos on the box. In one of the photos mom could not stop laughing. It was my favorite photo of them on the box.

After they were finished it was us kids turn on the box. Our photos were not as ridiculous. Baker did not want to be in the photo so it was just me and Lu.

Then we walked over to a moon prop. It was us kids turn first. Baker did want to be in the photo this time. My favorite photo was ths one:

Then it was mom and dads turn. The photographer asked them to grab eachothers cheeks which was weird. My favorite photo of them was:

Us kids got to have a photo with Mario.

Then we got ot ride the ATVs. Dad, Lu, and I were on one and mom and Baker were on the other. Lu got to go on the front, Dad was in the middle, and I was in the back.

After a while Lu went to mom's ATV and so dad and I got to go really fast. He even let me drive alone for part of it!!!!!! On the course there was a river crossing and we had to tuck our feet so we didn't get wet.

It was really fun. Once we returned our ATVs, we walked along the beach and there was another river crossing. Dad piggybacked mom and Baker and I carried Lu across. Overall it was a really good experience and I totally recommend it.

Today we are getting on a train to Chishang.

Happy late mothers day! Love Ginny

Ginny!

We got to meet one of those robots (maybe a cousin?) in Bellevue at sushi. Come with us when you’re home!

Love,

Lourdes

So cute! I love all cute things. And those toilets are divine - we have one too so feel free to come to it whenever you’d like some warm buns 🤭

Great blog, bunny! I still don’t understand the cheek-grabbing thing.
